OIL AND NATURAL GAS APPLICATIONS

Oil and Natural gas are, by their nature, liquids, which must be transported under safe conditions. If transportation of oil and natural gas is planned as part of system and product designs, engineers have to keep the safety factor compared to a normal design.

In such hydrocarbon applications, which contain aggressive substances due to their chemical structure, and are flammable and explosive, the presence of high pressure makes it more difficult to overcome project designing challenges and find the optimum solution.

In steel pipes, corrosion related costs constitute a significant part of total costs in investment and operating period. Corrosion problems in steel pipes, the service life of which is short due to this defect, become a chronic issue that requires the reconstruction of the whole line. The root cause of this problem is the fact that the corrosion mechanism in underground pipes is based on very different factors and corrosion cannot be prevented 100% with today’s technologies. Corrosion prevention systems fail to overcome the challenges of such a complicated algorithm. With this systems, the general aim is not to prevent corrosion 100%, but mitigate it.

Our company introduced to the sector a solution that eliminates the costs incurred due to above-mentioned problems, and much more, as a result of years of R&D studies. This technology is called “Thermoplastic Composite Pipe” technology. RTP pipes proved themselves with improvements completed within a short span of time, and manifested in small scale applications. Our company studied on all the details of this technology with an R&D team of experts from different disciplines and proved the feasibility of the system with larger diameters and high pressures. On the other hands, RTP pipes, which can be produced in large diameters, has become the alternative to steel pipes in oil and natural gas lines.

PIPE STRUCTURE

Bogenn RTP (Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe) Pipes have a three layered hybrid structure. While the inner and outer layer of the pipe is thermoplastic, the middle layer consists of high-strength composite material. Thermoplastic layers can be designed with different materials such as HDPE, PP, PE-RT, PVTF etc. according to project requirements. Continuous fiber reinforcement layer in the middle layer can also be designed in different materials such as glass fiber, aramid, carbon fibre etc. according to project requirements.

PRODUCTION STANDARDS

The production of Bogenn RTP Pipes is based on the following standards.

API 15 S Wound Thermoplastic Pipes
DNVGL–RP-F119 Thermoplastic Composite Pipes
ASTM F2896 Reinforced Polyethylene Composite Pipes
ISO TS 18226 Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes
TSE K 166 Thermoplastic Composite Pipes
DIN EN 12201 Polyethylene Pipes

PRODUCTION RANGE

Bogenn RTP Pipes are manufactures within the range of Ø90 – 1200 mm.

PRESSURE CLASS

Bogenn RTP Pipes are manufactured within the pressure range of PN10 – PN200.
